Permaculture and organic care with Cynthia Rabinowitz (April 2013)

Presenter: Cynthia Rabinowitz

Program: Permaculture and Organic Land Care

Permaculture is a design system that draws principles and ethics from nature and seeks to design human environments to provide all of our needs by mimicking nature, reducing dependency on fossil fuel, reducing waste and adverse impacts. The workshop on Permaculture and Organic Land Care will lay out the scientific basis for the system we have operated under since the beginning of the fossil fuel era, how we have arrived at the dire place we are at, and how we can contribute to healing the earth.

Cynthia Rabinowitz is a soil and wetland scientist, horticulturist and ecological landscape designer since 1980. Cynthia is also a certified Permaculture Design Consultant.  She has been Adjunct Lecturer at Southern Connecticut State University and was a former County Agricultural and Community Development Agent for New Haven County with the UConn Cooperative Extension Service.
PS
What a great meeting and inspiring presenter. Who is going to turn their front lawn into having more edible plants?  I am, I can't wait to garden!

It was so interesting to learn about the ways we can use pemaculture combining site assessment as we work with nature and plant our gardens. I am going to plant some fruit trees this Spring. Enjoy your gardens!  Cindy Miller
